Our Team
Nathaniel J. Williams, Ed.D, MHS, MPA - President & Chief Executive Officer:
Dr. Williams has been the CEO of HumanWorks Affiliates, Inc., an eight cluster group of human service corporations, since 1993. Over the years, the growth of these organizations has grown from a combined budget of 400K to over 10M.
Dr. Williams was previously employed as a Director of Human Resources and Operations, Unit Director, Residence Manager, and Teaching Parent in organizations serving adults with mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, and dependent children.
Dr. Williams possesses three graduate degrees – Masters in Human Services from Lincoln University, Masters in Public Administration from Cheyney University, and a Doctorate in Education from Fielding Graduate University. Dr. Williams serves on various statewide committees focused on improving the lives of our most vulnerable citizens.
Patrice Zanis – Vice President/Deputy Chief Executive Officer:
Ms. Zanis is experienced in county, state, and federal oversight of programs for persons with developmental disabilities and mental health consumers. Her work history spans twenty-nine (29) years of progressive experience in the field of mental retardation/mental health. In her current position, Ms. Zanis is responsible for executive level work in the administration, operation, and management of contract services and quality enhancements, charged with the responsibility to negotiate contracts with county administrations, as well as procure service expansion on behalf of HumanWorks, Inc. (HWA), maintaining ultimate responsibility and accountability for program development and organized processes with representatives from public and private agencies, community service organizations, federal, state, and county agencies. Ms. Zanis possesses a Bachelors in Sociology.
Diane Seri – Controller:
Ms. Seri has been with the company for a year and a half. Her position includes cash management, contract maintenance and oversight of all daily fiscal operations. She has an associate’s degree in accounting and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in organizational management with a concentration in accounting. Prior to coming to HumanWorks Affiliates she worked in banking for many years and for a builder.
Shawn Deiter – Director of Corporate Advancement:
Ms. Deiter became the Director of Corporate Advancement at HumanWorks Affiliates, Inc. as of September 2008. Shawn is responsible for procuring additional resources for HumanWorks Affiliates, Inc. by the development and maintenance of new business ventures and the development of funding resources. She oversees the operations for FunWorks, Inc. and HumanWorks Training & Educational Services, Inc.
Shawn graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English and a Minor in German. For the past ten years, she coordinated sales, marketing and public relations in the travel industry. Prior to that, she spent two years in management at a skilled nursing facility.
